Waiting. With Anticipation.
Each day, children wait
to open the presents under the tree.
Cradling pacakges,
they check them for size and shape,
weight and balance.
Shaking them to discover
if they make a sound.
Breathless, trembling,
they anticipate opening day.
Filled with awe and wonder.
Each day, we wait
to find the gifts He’s left behind.
Cradling His love letter,
We whisper words of praise,
singing songs of delight.
We search for unexpected
objects of beauty
in places so obvious
That they aren’t noticed anymore.
Breathless, trembling
We are filled with awe and wonder.

and with dearest Michelle:
Absolutely beautiful post.
I too wait breathless with anticipation…
Thanks Joan. I really appreciate your kind words.
“…someday I’ll miss this…” True for many things 🙂
Wishing you a wonderful week,
Eva
It is a good way to keep my attitude in check, that’s for sure.
thanks for kind words and for stopping by!
enjoyed browsing through the photo scavenger hunt pics – looks like lots of fun. what a great idea.
It has been lots of fun. Maybe you could participate with a photo or two?
I felt what I remember as a kid, shaking those packages under the tree while reading this. And I love the tie to our anticipation of Christ’s work in our lives… beautiful.
I remember doing that. I remember peek holes too. May I await Him with even more anticipation.
So beautiful! We love Nutella around our house:) Great list!
That was my first jar. mmmmm
this is beautiful…I love…find the gifts He left behind…a lifetime journey…wow…it looks like a big production your daughter was a part of…you should be proud…
Blessings~
We attend a kind of large church…a congregation of about 1500, so it was a pretty big deal…I was very proud! 😀
I got so used to waiting until Christmas Eve to wrap when the boys were small that every year I forget I can do this thing–have presents under the tree before Christmas! Not this year, though. It’s been fun to watch them nose around the packages. A new thing for us. My post is called “Be the Gift” today, but I don’t know if the photo is the best for your linky. I’ll try to take a pic of a more appropriate gift this week and stop back by. Have a wonderful monday!
I would love to see any Christmas photo you have…Merry Christmas…
What wonderful anticipation here! Looks like you have gifted and hard working children. Lots to celebrate:)
Yes, I do have wonderful children, and we are anticipating His presence.
#90 – Indeed, a truly beautiful Christmas present! I never got a dog for Christmas, but I did get one as a wedding present. Not to insult our other gifts, but Red Dwarf (the Border Collie) was our best wedding gift we could have received! 😀
Here’s hoping for a calm week for you, as “The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year” so quickly approaches!
I didn’t get him for Christmas, but he is fascinated by sleeping under the tree. so. cute.
Love that gift of your daughter bringing down the house — how wonderful that must have been!
It was. I can see how we live our lives through our children…I must be careful to live my life through Him.
Thanks for visiting my blog and inviting me to link up! 🙂
You’re welcome Jamie. I like your facebook page too, I’m excited about staying connected.
I loved reading your list of blessings for which you are thankful. I would have loved to be in the audience listening to your daughter. 🙂
Merry Christmas!
Blessings and love,
Debbie
Thanks, I would have loved for you to be there!
Many things to be thankful for. I chuckled at the music you didn’t ask for, smiled really big imagining your heart about to burst during the Christmas production, and drooled over the nachos. (?) These things bring much Merry to Christmas.
Thanks for enjoying my gratitude list almost as much as I did!
Awesome looking nachos! Thank you for sharing your list this week and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
They were pretty epic! Thanks for visiting!
Loved your post!
Your space continues to bless me, sweet friend!
Merry Christmas…
Thank you dear Stefanie! I hope you had a marvelous Christmas filled with many Harrison Ford movies… 😉
I enjoyed reading the scavenger series. TY! 🙂
I’ll probably do something similar next year.
